Renée Brennan (née Martiny)

Renée passed away peacefully on 12 September 2025, surrounded by her family and cared for with great kindness by the wonderful staff of the Nightingale Ward at Blackrock Clinic, under Prof. Eoin Tiernan and Kathleen Brennan from the Supportive Medicine Team. We’re especially grateful to Prof. John Crown and his team for their care and support throughout her illness.

Renée faced her illness with incredible strength, courage, and her trademark positivity.

She began her career with Aer Lingus in 1963 and spent many happy years flying as cabin crew. Always smiling and full of fun, she was loved by her colleagues and made lifelong friends along the way.

Renée was the beloved wife of the late Bernie Brennan and the much-loved mum of Chantal and Dominique. She’ll be deeply missed by her adored grandchildren Glenn, Lochlan and Faie, her son-in-law Duncan, her sister Jackie Barth, her extended family, nieces, nephews, in-laws and many dear friends.

She’ll be remembered always with love, especially by her dear friend Críona Turley and her family, for her warmth, generosity, and wonderful spirit.
