Whether racing with friends or simply feeling the ocean breeze, sailing was where he felt truly free. When on land, his heart belonged to football—more specifically, Gaelic football. A fierce and dedicated player in his younger years, he never lost his love for the game, following it passionately and always ready for a spirited conversation about the latest matches.

James’s presence was one of warmth and generosity. He had a way of making people feel welcome, of offering wisdom without pretence, and of reminding everyone to enjoy the simple moments. His laughter, his stories, and his unwavering love will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
